Math 8

The palmer secondary math subject teaches core concepts like algebra for students, preparing them for higher levels of math in future math courses. The course focus on student's communication skills, encouraging them to work with each other to solve problems.​

Math 10:

Math 10 and math courses beyond are divided into two parts, workplace and normal courses. Math workplace are designed for students' with clear career paths that doesn't require mathematics, or any struggling students. Math 10 teaches new concepts in trigonometry, including the trigonometric ratios: sin, cos, tan and their inverse.

Math 12:

Math 12 will focus on transformations and analyses of various functions used in higher mathematics, geometric sequences and series, as well as trigonometry. If students wish to take AP (advance placement) math, then students must have an 80% or higher in pre-calculus 11 and must be taking pre-calculus 12 concurrently.​

Math Courses

Palmer offers a variety of Math courses, that students can choose depending on their confidence in their math ability

Math 9

Math 9 further builds into topics that were taught in math 8, these includes number operations, algebra, logic, measurement, geometric constructions, probability and statistics, as well as financial literacy.

Math 11:

Math 11 is divided into 4 courses, workplace 11, math foundations 11, enriched math 11 and pre-calculus 11. Students may choose the course they believe are the most suitable for themselves, based on their math abilities. Math 11's topic consists of mathematical reasoning, angle relationships, graph analysis, applications of statistics, scale models, as well as financial literacy.

Math Advanced Placement:

​This course is for students who want a head start in university, contents in Math AP is equivalent to the first year of maths in university. However, credits will only be given after students get a 4 or above in AB or BC exams.
