Singer Miguel Shares He Privately Welcomed His First Baby

Miguel is celebrating one year of fatherhood.
The “Sure Thing” singer shared that he and partner Margaret Zhang privately welcomed their first baby last year in a tribute post for the little one’s first birthday.
“Our baby turned 1 today,” Miguel wrote on Instagram Sept. 9 alongside a video of him and his baby, whose face is blurred out. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO!!!”
“We love you so much,” he continued. “So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents. Papá wrote you a song—hope it always reminds you of how loved you are.”
The 39-year-old’s latest news comes three years after he and ex Nazanin Mandi finalized their divorce after 3 years of marriage.
Before that, the pair had quite the on-again off-again relationship, having gotten back together four months after their initial breakup in September 2021.
"Heal the root so the tree is stable,” Nazanin wrote on Instagram in February 2022 alongside a series of steamy photos of the pair. “I'm so proud of us."
And to prove that their romance was truly rekindled, she signed the note from "The Pimentel's xoxo," referring to their joint last name.
When the two initially went their separate ways a few months prior, their reps told People that they had been broken up “for some time now” and that they continued to “wish each other well.”
Indeed, even in the few months following their breakup, Nazanin made it clear that Miguel was by her side when she needed him most: during her recovery from LASIK eye surgery.
According to documents obtained by E! News in October 2022, Nazanin filed for the dissolution of their union in California, citing irreconcilable differences. In her filing, she also asked the couple's assets and properties be divided according to their prenuptial agreement.
As she wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time, “He has Lasik sympathy pains for me lol.”
After all, Miguel and Nazanin—who began dating when they were just 19 and 18 years old, respectively—had been through a lot together since they started as high school sweethearts.
"When you're with somebody starting from 18, a lot of things happen," Nazanin told E! News after their 2018 wedding. "There's a lot of growth. There's a lot of growing pains and all through our twenties was the time to get our minds right, to really find ourselves and through that process, fortunately, we grew together and not apart.
