Teacher Interview

Articles about informations from Mr Kwan, describing his classroom expectations and overview.

Classroom agenda

In Mr Kwan's classroom, students are expected to have homework daily, from the Mikelson textbooks. Students could work together in group projects during specific units.

Pace

New concepts will be taught daily, so students are heavily encouraged by Mr Kwan to revise contents in free time, preparing for quizzes and tests.

Tools

Tools used in Mr. Kwan's math classroom may include calculators if it is applicable for that unit (for example, when calculating sin, cos, and tan in trigonometry ratios.) Extra tools like the online application: Teams, will also be used to keep students in touch with course materials.

Example

In Mr. Kwan's grade 9 math classroom, he teaches major units including polynomials, linear equations, rational numbers, exponent laws, linear equations, similarity of shapes, intro to statistics, incomes, budgets, and interests.

Conclusion

Mr Kwan believes studying math in your extra time could significantly benefit your academic grade. As new content are frequently taught, students may miss important ideas while approaching new ones, or even create confusion when connecting relationships between units. Although recent development in math has integrated AI into problem solving, I do not recommend the use AI in helping with homework to prevent over reliant on AI, even when it's not reliable.
