Literature
Even if the focus of English First People 12 is on First Nations, it also teaches English literary skills from texts and more.
Features:
From reading literary works from the First Nation, students not only learn the what's the text is about but also how is it written. Student should be expected to learn the process of creating text.
Students will learn about how First Nation uses poetic device like assonance, alliteration, rhythm, etc, to create euphonic poems

Structures
Students can learn the structure of literature the First Nation write in, like specific procedures when writing stories that will be passed down. Student would be able to use more complex and meaningful sentence structures in English other than the basics syntax.

Conventions:
Although, students should already show proficient level of English convention, but by continuously exposing them to literary works, it will help them further improve their language skills, aiding them in future writing assignments.

Summary
Students studying in English First People 12 not only is able to learn the First Nation culture, but also the English grammatical skills. By the end of the course, student should be able to improve in English significantly and have a deeper understanding of the English language.
